Pinewood Derby 2011

On January 25, the Cub Scouts of Pack 224 had their Pinewood Derby. There was plenty of excitement in the air as the boys and their families watched the races. Each boy had a special car that he had designed and each was very unique. Congratulations to Kenny for a stunning come-from-behind victory. Everyone had a great time at the main race and all the freestyle races after that! The dads even had a some fun putting the track together.

Paper Airplanes

One of the most fun meetings we had this year had the Cub Scouts making and racing paper airplanes. After their scheduled activites  to earn their ranks, Mr. Joe brought in directions and paper for a few different designs, some for speed and some for long flight times. The boys made one of each and had a contest.  Congratulations to Jake and Jordan – the winners of the two contests!

Popcorn Fundraiser

This years Popcorn fundrasier was a big success. The pack raised more than last year, selling popcorn to their friends and neighbors and at our sale at Walmart.  Another fun, educational  activity!

2010 Highlights

2010 was a great year for Cub Scout Pack 224! We did a lot of exciting things, including camping,  a fishing lecture and more.  Our meetings were always fun and educational. The boys helped the pack go and the pack helped the Cub Scouts grow

September Meetings

September was a great month for pack 224. The pack restarted with a few returning members and some new recruits. In our weekly meetings the boys did a variety of activities and learned what it means to be a cub scout. They learned the the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, the Cub Scout Motto, Sign, Salute as well as all the other essentials required for their Bobcat Rank.  They also learned how to tie a square not and two half hitches! It wa a great start to new Cub Scout year.
